Nicki Noodle is named for Nick’s English Hut, on Kirkwood Ave., in Bloomington, IN, Nicki is two months younger than her half-brother Molson, who was named for Rob and Jeannie’s beverage of choice at Nick’s! We are thankful to Shawn and Kathy Platt of Rocky Creek Bernese Mountain Dogs for letting us have this sweet girl.

Nicki is our morning girl, wiggling with excitement as she greets the other dogs, even if they don’t share her early enthusiasm. She and Molson are the bestest of friends and spend the day exploring the backyard, playing tug and wrestling. Nicki is one of the lead landscapers, digging many new ‘ornamental ponds’ as she sees fit.

When we went to the Platt’s to pick out a puppy, Nicki picked out us. She went right to Rob, jumped up to see him, and gave him kisses and her special hug.

Initially we had planned on Nicki showing in the conformation ring, but where she has excelled has been at agility trials. Nicki quickly caught up with Keene on the jumpers courses finishing her AKC Novice Jumpers Preferred title in about six months. She’s had a slower start in standard but now that she’s mastered the teeter and learned to down on the table, she’s only one Q away from her Novice Standard Preferred Title. Megan has helped in handling Nicki in the ring in Open Jumpers, but neither she or Jeannie have lead Nicki to her first Open Q, but it shouldn’t be much longer!

At the Muncie Kennel Club show, August 18th, 2006, Melanie handled Nicki to Nicki’s second breed ring point and Melanie’s first.

Nicki is happiest at home whether it’s napping on the Coolaroo dog beds inside or exploring the backyard with her best buddy, and big half-brother, Molson.

While with her littermates at the Platt’s, Nicki was named ‘Yellow Girl’ for the yellow identification ribbon she wore. The pretty little girl attached herself to Rob instantly.

Nicki practices a half A-frame during the Blizzard of 2008. We received 17 inches of snow in less than two days and the dogs were in heaven!
