Meadow Wood Zac V Kasablanca x CH Black ’N Gold’s Jamaican Magic

Born: 1/28/2003 Berner-Garde ID: 18813

Marley is our first Berner girl, first show puppy and the first Berner to enter our lives after Bernie died. Nicknamed Marley Moo, Moo Bear or Moo Butt, she was an ‘only’ Berner for just a week before her uncle Keeneland came to live with us, but at 10 weeks old she established herself as the alpha of the house and maintains her position as alpha bitch to this day.

With Marley, and the help of her breeders Terry and Jean Smith, we ventured into the world of conformation show dogs. But Marley hated showing, earning only half her points and a major toward her championship. But her smooth movement and beautiful thick coat show the champion she could have been. She now shows occaisionally in the Jr ring with Melanie with mixed results. It all depends on Marley’s mood on that day!

Marley is the most cuddley, smiley, thinking, naughty, stubborn dog we have, and Jeannie, especially, adores her. Jeannie has worked with Marley on pulling a wagon and hopes to begin Marley’s drafting career this year. Marley is just waiting to see what’s in it for her!

Marley is truely a melt-in-your-lap kind of dog, much prefering cuddling at home to running around the show ring.
Marley finds pulling the training wheels isn’t so bad, just as long as Jeannie keeps passing out the treats.
Melanie and Marley take first place in their Juniors class the first time in the ring together.
Getting lots of attention was the incentive Marley needed to pull her covered wagon in the Annual Holiday Parade in Lancaster, OH.
While extremely frustrating at times, Jeannie enjoyed learning how to show dogs with Marley because she realized it was easier to relax when you’re in the ring with one of your best friends.
