CH October’s Believe in Magic x CH Villairns Stellaris Casino

Born: 4/5/2002 Berner-Garde ID: 18356

Kenneland (Keene, Bean, Sock’em Bean or Keener-Bean) came to us from Fara Bushnell on his first birthday. His original owners felt he was ‘just too much to handle.’ Quite the opposite, Keene has been the most eager to please, trainable dog we’ve ever had.

Keene lives to be with ‘his people’, especially Jeannie, and trains weekly at ‘Wild Weavers’ agility center in Gahanna, OH. His enthusiasm for the sport often overtakes his patience for Jeannie’s inability to keep up with him. But still, he has earned his Novice Agility Preferred title in AKC, two Q’s in AKC Novice Jumpers Preferred, the first of which he earned at the 2007 Bernese National Specialty, in Louisville, KY taking second place with an entry of over 20 Berners. His second jumpers Q was earned in Dec. 16, 2007 when he then went on to his first double Q, having his first qualifing run in Open Standard Preferred. Keene also has two qualifying runs in tunnelers in NADAC trials and Keene and Jeannie Q’d in Rally Novice at the '07 Specialty - their first time ever on a Rally course.

Keeneland is truely our ‘Kentucky Gentleman’ and a great ambassador for the breed!

Keene is often found lounging in the ‘flying frog position’ with his hind legs stretched straight back but with Keene’s special added touch of crossing his front paws.

After his big successes at the 2007 National Specialty, Keeneland injured his illiopsis muscle and took the entire summer off to recuperate. He started back competing again in Oct. 2007.

Agility training at home currently consists of single jumps, several wing jumps, a tire jump, a 20 foot tunnel, pause table, teeter and weaves poles with guide wires. We added a closed tunnel, broad jump, and two double jumps this past spring. We also have a full course set for AKC Rally and a 90' x 80' set of ring gates for training.
Keene thrives on attention, especially on his birthday. Posing for pictures, eating cake and being doted on by his people - what more could a Roo ask for?
Don’t blondes have more fun? Keene tries out a ‘wig’ of Nugget’s hair.
Keene shows that even the big dogs can be fast in the tunnels - he can even change direction halfway through!
Given that Keene is almost six years old, Jeannie chooses to run Keene in the preferred classes, jumping 20 inches instead of 24.
